In the final Ustinov College Café Scientifique of the Epiphany Term, CEG PhD student, Pen-Yuan Hsing, was invited to speak on the topic of vision. Using examples from his Masters research Pen demonstrated how cameras on remote operate vehicles (ROVs) can be used in the deep-sea to monitor the impacts of oil spills on deep-sea coral communities. It was a fascinating talk and Pen communicated his research in an accessible manner fully engaging the audience throughout his presentation. Well done Pen! | Photo credits: Michael Baker |
