Isabel Fletcher
For my Masters I am investigating the role of soil biota in plant invasions in the UK. Currently I am working on Himalayan Balsam and its colonisation of areas around Durham. I aim to identify why Himalayan Balsam has become such an aggressive invader in Durham and I hope to apply some of my findings to habitat restoration and conservation of native plant species.

I am also passionate about wider issues in conservation, especially advocating its education and communication to wider society and its influence on public policy.
